Best time to visit

Year-round; clearest views in the dry winter (May–September)

The Blyde River Canyon is the centrepiece of Mpumalanga's Panorama Route one of the world's largest green canyons, its subtropical walls plunging to the river far below. The Three Rondavels, three round, grass-topped peaks, are its signature view.

Nearby stops string together along the escarpment: God's Window, Bourke's Luck Potholes and a series of waterfalls, making the whole route an unforgettable day's drive.
