Half an hour from Cape Town, the Cape Winelands are the heart of South African wine. Three historic valleys Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl string together Cape Dutch estates, oak-lined streets and some of the country's finest restaurants.

It is an easy, rewarding loop: tastings and long lunches by day, with the mountains of the Boland as a constant backdrop.
